2026 California Candidates Survey

California stands at a defining moment. As the fourth largest economy in the world, what happens in our state shapes not only the national landscape, but global opportunity and progress. At the heart of that future is education. The decisions made by our next State Superintendent of Public Instruction will have lasting consequences for millions of students, families, educators, and communities, especially those who have historically been underserved.

At Latinos for Education Bay Area, we believe that an informed community is a powerful community. That is why we have asked candidates to share their vision for strengthening public education, supporting educators, and preparing students for success in an increasingly complex world. We sent each campaign a questionnaire to provide voters with clear, transparent insight into where they stand on the issues that matter most for the future of our education system.

Our goal is to ensure that communities have the tools they need to understand candidates’ priorities, goals, and proposed solutions. Their responses are presented below in full, allowing voters to read their ideas and approaches directly. Responses have not been edited or modified in any way.
